May and June Meetings...

We have the following meetings organised (or in the planning).

All meetings start at 11am.

Monday 21st May - Beach within Torbay. Rockpooling? Subject to tide times.

Monday 28th May - Forest for a walk and nature exploration.  

Monday 4th June - Bank Holiday so no meeting.

Monday 11th June - In talks with a Bowling venue to see what they can offer us.

Monday 18th June - Home Meet, venue to be confirmed. If anyone would like to offer their home, please contact me at Julia@classroomfree.co.uk .

Monday 25th June - In talks with a local tourist attraction to see what can be arranged. Currently they are offering £6.95 per child and £6.95 per Adult. This is quite a significant saving on their usual £10.95 for adults and £8.95 for children prices. Under 3's are free.

Dates for your Diary.

30th January - Walk around Teignbridge. Meet at 11am. Cancelled due to illness and bad weather forecast.

6th February - A visitor attraction in Cornwall. £5 per person.  11am, meeting outside the entrance. Please exchange mobile number with someone so we can meet inside if late. 

13th February - Crab Lining in Torbay, including a (possible) paid visit to an educational attraction.  11am. 

20th February. The old favourite park in Newton Abbot.

27th February. A little out of our area, but a trip to a National Trust Property. I'm not arranging this as a visit at this time of year, so normal NT admission prices apply. Free entry to NT members of course. 11am at the entrance in the courtyard.

5th March.  An attraction in Paignton.  Admission rates apply. 11am at the front entrance.

I am currently looking into the possibility of hiring a venue for regular(fortnightly or monthly?) meetings.  These will probably take place on a Thursday and will incorporate art sessions, science experiments, craft ideas, and whatever else the children wish to do.  We are looking for a venue around the Newton Abbot area, but are open to suggestions elsewhere.  The location must be accessible for those that use public transport, and preferably have easy parking for members with cars.

Monday 1st - Forest Meeting.

Monday 8th - Outing to an attraction on Dartmoor.  £5 per person, adult or child, under 3's free.

Monday 15th - Scavenger Hunt near Newton Abbot.

Monday 22nd - Walk near Bovey Tracey.

Monday 29th - Bank Holiday, no official group meet.

Dates for September...

Monday 5th: Museum (provisional booking, need to confirm with the museum this date is available) - This is not for an organised workshop, just a look around the museum and it's visiting exhibition. Contact Julia@classroomfree.co.uk for more details and prices.

I need to know an idea of interested numbers for the museum visit in order to book it, so please register your interest using the same email as above.

THURSDAY 8th: Not Back to School Picnic near Paignton.  Let's celebrate our Home-Education freedom!  All home-educators are welcome to join us, you don't have to be a regular member of the Teignbridge and Torbay group to come along of course :)

Monday 12th: Walk in Totnes.

Monday 19th: Visiting a park in Paignton.

Monday 26th: Meeting near Newton Abbot.
